No, a train is a really complicated machine. A new train is as complicated as an aeroplane with lots of really complicated computer systems controlling everything from Automatic Driving through to the doors opening and the toilets flushing. There are 6 servers on the latest Siemens Train which are networked together.

This doesn’t even take into account all the Door mechanisms, power motors and equipment and lighting and passenger announcement systems. No one person knows how to fix everything on the train.

It took hundreds of people, years to design the train and hundreds of people to keep them working safely and efficiently.
