I’ve always to be involved in science. I liked learning about space and finding out answers to questions I had. Science provided those answers.

I think I was quite lucky, I had lots of female teachers and other women I knew who were scientists and engineers so I never felt like it was a wrong or unusual choice.

I did also want to be an author, a doctor and a lawyer at various points but I realised I wasn’t very good at those things. Also, engineering is a lot more interesting.

      Hi 399amph45 ,

No when I was little girl I wanted to be a medical doctor. Never even though about engineering or knew what engineers actual do???
However, when I didn’t get into medical school after trying twice I had to do something else. So with my love for Maths I decide to do this with Electronics at University and fell in love with engineering.

Now I am on a mission to get more girls in Engineering because I believe the engineering world needs more females.

      Sheryl
